Battle Log Sunnybank : June 3, 2020 1300-1500
Praise and thanks God to move and call Johnny to invite me to go back on to the street to do street Evangelism at Sunnybank but on Wednesday instead of Thursday that better suit our current life routine.
In His power, we overcame the challenge of rejection at the initial short period and went into full boom gear for witnessing Christ. I was given 11 divine appointments as recap below. Please pray for God's continue work on their lives.
By the way, I quote Johnny's sharing in Chinese here for your reference:
感è¬å¤©çˆ¶ä¸Šå¸çš„å¸¶é ˜å’Œç¥ç¦ï¼Œ 關牧師和我å†ä¸€æ¬¡é–‹å§‹å—å€Sunnybank è¡—é ç¦éŸ³äº‹å·¥ï¼Œä»Šåˆæœ‰å…©ä½ç°¡ã€éWorking Holiday çš„å°ç£åŒèƒžï¼Œåš´å§“大å¸ç”Ÿï¼Œé‚„有Tammy Lee, 他們都åœä¸‹äº†è…³æ¥ï¼Œè½åˆ°äº†ç¦éŸ³ï¼Œ 祈求上å¸ä¿å®ˆè³œç¦ï¼Œæ‹¯æ•‘那願æ„為罪悔改並相信耶穌基ç£çš„人。
1) A mainland Chinese turned me down claiming he is Buddhists. But I still managed to identify with him that Buddhism is not bad teaching people to be a good person through self-perfection. But this is far from enough to become perfect in God's standard and we all need Jesus to die for our Sin. Though the bus came very qucik, but the seed of Gospel has been planted anyway.
2) An elderly man Mr Chan陳 from HKG who claimed to have many Christian connection but not yet having received Christ. He attended churches (St Mary in HKG香港è–瑪利 and BCAC è¯äººå®£é“會here in Brisbane) ,He showed great interest to pursue for Christ but just fallen short of the final push. He asked to meet me other times as he was in a rush. So I invited him to attend our church service this Sunday so hopefully, God will lead him to repent and receive Christ eventually.
3) A dating couples from Taiwan let me walk and talk to share gospel to then while we got across the pedestrian bridge. They heard, understood and appeared very receptive to the Gospel. Just Pray for God's final touch to turn them around to receive Christ. 俊åºï¼Œå¿µåºï¼Œç”·å¥³æœ‹å‹ï¼Œé™ªèµ°ï¼Œé¡˜æ„ä¿¡
4) Another Mainland old lady heard the gosepl.
5) Two girl with one named阿慧 who appeared more than willing to hear the gospel and showed great interest to pursue. Pray that the God will use the tract to shed light on her life for repentance and salvation,願æ„è½ï¼Œæ˜Žç™½ï¼ŒåŒæ„, 車來
6) Non Native English speaking Mother and son asking for direction to Inala. After helping them to find the way to go. I asked for permission to share the gospel with them. They took the tract but the mother appeared not willing to listen to the gospel. The son is more gracious for my help and listened to the end before urging to go by his mother.
7) A volunteer worker lady near by also heard the gospel and laugh when I said not even our good deed in helping out the woman and her son would earn us right to heaven. She took the tract before the bus came to take her away.
8) An Asian couples took the tract with a friendly gesture but was in a real rush to stop.
9) Two Mt Gravatt high school students, i.e. a boy from South Africa and a girl from South Maui were both willing to heat the gospel. The boy later even claimed he is a Christian but without assurance. So the sharing at least clarified once again the meaning of salvation and as a Christ, we all should professed 100% faith and assurance about our salvation.
10) Another Aussie couples willing took the tract but without a long talk.
11) Celine a PNG girl of catholic background spent a long time to listen to the gospel. Like many Catholic Christian, she does no have assurance of salvation but at the end was clarified for good.

Battle Log, Toowong Village : June 9 Tuesday 1330-1500
Praise and thank God we resumed our Street Evangelism after a pause for 14 weeks because of Covid-19. The scenario of gospel sharing opportunities are different because of two major impacts: 1) the relocation of the bus stop to UQ to a temporary location losing for us a concentrated spot for long conversation. We have to grab opportunities by stopping people on the street. 2) Students are in general not in a great hurry as they now have no class but all switched to online study. They came to Toowong mainly for shopping.
For This first day of reopening of Toowong ministry, only Johnny and I were available. We pray that more old and new team mates will rejoin us as God's Willing.
God had given Johnny three major long chats(*) while I got divine opportunities of mixed length as recap below: -
1) One UQ Aussie man was in a hurry for a Medical appointment. I still managed to share the nutshell of the Gospel indicating we are good person but still an imperfect sinners that needs salvation of Jesus.
2) Two Chinese UQ students took the tracts but were not interested to chat. However, I still manged to have friendly chat with the 2nd one sharing my testimony.
3) A Local Aussie elderly lady sought my help to look for the location of the relocated bus 2nd temporary stop. I took the chance to share the gospel with her on our walk to that bus stop. It was a pity she missed the bus by just a couple of seconds. But I pray that she will not miss the chance to know and receive Christ through my sharing and the reading of the tract.
4) A local Aussie couples took the tract on my way back to the first temporary bus stop.
5) A local Aussie girl was willing to chat at the first temporary bus stop and appeared receptive. She missed the bus despite waving to stop the bus. She anyway did not complain and chose to walk home.
6) A Beijing lady let me walk and talk for a long distance of 1km down the road to her home. Pray that seed of Gospel was sowed and the tract will help bearing fruit of salvation.
7) A Catholic man politely allowed me to share with him. Typically he has no no assurance of salvation. Could not carry on for clarification as his booked taxi arrived.
8) Grace from Singapore also was looking for the 2nd temporary bus stop. After showing her the direction, she did not rush to leave but stay to have a long chat with me. Quickly she told me she is a Christian attending CCCB St Lucia the English congregation. She also has the problem of no assurance of her salvation and humbly let me clarify everything for her.

The weekend in Christchurch was contrasting. Cold and wet on Saturday, cold and sunny on Sunday.
So I decided to do online outreach on Saturday :) Some highlights include:
Having a wonderful conversation with at least three Catholic girls who became very engaged in the conversation. At one point a landline rang. It was loud and gave me a bit of a fright! The girls ignored it, they were so interested in what we were talking about. So I asked if they were going to answer it. One of the girls said, oh, I’ll go disconnect it. Sure enough, she jumped out of her chair. A few moments later and the phone stopped ringing. She came back, sat down and indicated I could continue! There were moments in the conversation where their jaws literally dropped, as they came to grasp the gospel. At the end of the conversation, one of the girls said, “thank you so much!”. It was a very heartwarming conversation.
I also got into a conversation with a Muslim law student from Morocco. Due to his English, the conversation was slow, but we both enjoyed trying to communicate as best as we could. I used Google Translate, and also some Arabic tracts that I had. I showed him the pages, and he read them!
I spoke with two Muslim girls from Kuwait - they were not interested at all. Sadly, they were mocking.
I spoke to a retired US air force mechanic.
With online evangelism you can reach such a diverse mix of people, who can all understand the same gospel message. It is such a wonderful harvest opportunity, and I praise God for it.
On Sunday afternoon there were a LOT of people out enjoying the sunshine and shopping. Thomas and I had a very busy outreach.
I spoke with large groups of high school aged kids initially. First a group of girls, then a group of guys. Those conversations were difficult, because each individual was at a different place in their thinking, and I didn’t have the energy to capture their attention so I could share the gospel well. Some would get distracted and disrupt the flow, and I was getting multiple competing questions. But I persisted.
A guy turned up late to the conversation I was having with the guys, but when his friends left, he stayed so I could take him through the flip chart. It was a great one on one conversation. He seemed to grasp the gospel, and professed that he was now trusting that Jesus had paid his hell fine. But as he walked off, he gave me a slight smile, which made me wonder if he was just playing along for fun. I noticed he walked up to three girls in the distance, he spoke to them for a bit, and then gave one of them the tract I had given him. Was he passing on the gospel? Or were they making fun of me? Either way, he heard the gospel. With greater knowledge comes greater responsibility, so I hope he was sincere!
Later, Thomas and I ended up getting into separate conversations. Mine was with a couple of guys from India. One of them understood the implications of the gospel, and became resistant because he knew his life would dramatically change if he accepted it. But he was open to reason and I was able to labour with him.
I finished with a walk up conversation with three young guys, who came to understand the gospel, but very quickly slipped back into the concept of works for salvation. This still amazes me. Repeating the gospel, and multiple checking questions are so important - which I did.
Thomas finished up with an odd conversation with three girls. One seemed interested and sincere. The second was laughing uncontrollably, while the third was just uncomfortable and walked part way down the mall to wait for her friends. I tried to engage the other two, but it didn’t work out. But Thomas was still able to complete the conversation with the first girl. Odd - but God knows, and the gospel was shared.

Saturday Night in Brisbane City there were people everywhere! The outreach came after a long day of protestors had been in the city and the area was buzzing, more people than a normal Saturday night. This meant there were many more people with which to engage, regarding their eternity and the gospel!
The first convesation of the evening was a sad one. A man who was shown the flaws in his own arguments and given a very clear explanation of how we know God exists was absolutely adamant that it couldn't be true. It was pointed out that it was his desire to live his own way that had caused this. He was shown his guilt, via the law and left with the seriousness of his eternity in Hell that was coming because he was unwilling to even hear the gospel.
The next conversation was with Addy. It was exciting and enlightening at the same time. At one point whilst she was coming to saw God's standard of perfection and the gospel she asked, "What type of Church do you go to?" She was told baptist and then she clarified why she'd asked, "I thought you might be part of a cult because I have never heard this ever before! In fact I have never heard anything like it".
As the conversation continued she came to grasp the simple message of the gospel and she was shocked and overjoyed. The implications of the effects it would have on her life were already on her mind before she was even asked and she could not stop saying, "Thank you for sharing this with me". She was blown away by the good news and also noted, "I was always worried that I couldn't get to Heaven because I feared God's judgement but now I know that I am forgien because Jesus has paid for my sin".
This was followed by a conversation with a Sikh. The sad part was, once he saw that he was guilty, heading to Hell and that the punishment is eternal and the he deserves to pay his pride came out loud and clear. He didn't want to trust that Jesus Christ has paid for His sin, he wanted to keep living his own way. He was so adamant that he even proclaimed that he would rather go to Hell than to trust that Jesus paid for his sin.
Last conversation was with a couple, the girl professed faith in Christ and had a clear understanding of the gospel, the guy was totally out of it. When asked the way to Heaven he had no idea. When taken through the gospel he was quite lost and ultimately he took offense a little at the challenge being bought to him because he attends Church every week. After a few explanations of the gospel he still didn't seem to grasp it and was warned desperately that he cannot stand behind his girlfriend on judgement day, he will enter Heaven on Hell based on who he is trusting in to pay for His sin.
Please be praying for those who heard the good news tonight, pray for those who were open and willing to engage and those who were hard hearted and resitant to God's free offer of forgiveness.

Thursday was cold and wet, and so I decided to stay home and focus on outreach online.
I had one outstanding gospel conversation.
It was preceded by a good & long gospel conversation, where the young man I was talking to seemed to grasp the gospel, and said there was nothing stopping him from trusting that Jesus had paid his hell fine. Praise God for that opportunity!
It had been a long day of outreach, and I was going to take a breather before moving into my next conversation. But Omegle was on automatic “reroll” and before I had a chance to stop it I was connected to a new stranger. I usually get a few skips before getting into another conversation, but this guy wanted to talk about “what happens after life”. So I was straight into another conversation.
The guy said he was Catholic, so he believed in heaven, hell, and purgatory. So I asked him what we have to do to go to heaven. He said, “you have to be a good person”. And then he explicitly added: “it’s got nothing to do with Jesus” (or words to that effect). My eyebrows raised - I had never heard that response before, I could tell I was going to enjoy this conversation, because the correct answer is the exact opposite!
So I gave him the good person test. He was floored - he instantly understood the logic of what I was saying. And so I then proceeded to explain the gospel. I ended by saying, “so, if Jesus has paid our hell fine, where does that mean you go when you die?”. He was stunned. He said, “heaven”. So I asked, “so, what is the reason why we go to heaven?” He just stared at me and said, “are you some kind of super philosopher?” I denied that I was, but I was overjoyed at seeing him understanding and it causing such a visibly positive response. We don’t need miracles, healings, or super apologetics… the gospel is the power of God for salvation! (Romans 1:16) He now understood that it was not our good deeds that get us to heaven, but Jesus’ death on the cross that pays our hell fine, getting us to heaven - the exact opposite of what he initially thought.
I continued by explaining:
I challenged him to respond to the gospel.
I then asked him if he knew anyone who wasn’t currently trusting that Jesus had paid their hell fine. He said yes, and mentioned a girl he knew who was an atheist. He said, “but she is a really good person…” But then he caught himself - I could see him mentally reprocessing the law and gospel conversation we had just had. I asked, “where will that person go when they die?” He looked at me and said, “to hell”. So I said, “so what can you do about that?” He said, “I need to tell her about Jesus”.
I left him some follow up details, including a link to needGod.net before we parted ways.
I sat back and rejoiced in praise of God and his amazing gospel and the privilege I have to share it with others. I’ve got no idea if this guy will respond to the gospel - all I can do is leave him in God’s hands - it’s God’s job to change hearts.
In contrast to the previous Friday, today’s outreach was calm.
The gospel + abortion outreach (with a team of four) went along with no major incidents.
It was great to see the food carts back in Cathedral Square! I really enjoyed open air preaching. I had two hecklers engage me (at separate times) and I instantly involved them in what I was saying. To my encouragement, they both backed down and left me alone! I continued to proclaim the glorious gospel in peace!
Roger and I then spent the afternoon at the corner of Cashel and Colombo sharing the gospel - no incidents! ;) Roger had conversation after conversation, and at one point asked if I had a Bible he could give away. Praise God. I had some great chats too. After the outreach, we enjoyed a KFC snack box (rather than a hot chocolate / coffee). It’s great to see KFC back in the central city, may the earthquake recovery continue bringing more people to hear the gospel!
I finished Friday’s outreach by joining the Aussie team online.
Our efforts are feeble, but God shows himself strong through them. All glory to God alone for any fruit.

Posted 4 June 2020, 8:31 PM by Martin Park. PermalinkOn Saturday, It was lovely weather on Saturday and there were quite a few people in the city. God has graciously provided us with 5 laborers to share the gospel together. As there is still COVID-19 restriction we met in front of H&M entrance instead of Starbucks and we started with prayer, praying that God will glorify Himself through this evangelism and that people will believe in death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our hearts were excited as we saw many people in the city.
Huy Do and Jack paired up and they went to state library area. Troy, Dave and myself stayed in Bourke st to share the gospel.
My first encounter was with a man who was gentle and quite knowledgeable. He could quote scriptures and argue his point logically (in some ways) with respect. He knew about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ but that he does not believe in Jesus. When I shared about attributes of God such as his justice and love and how Jesus' atonement is necessary for God to forgive sinners without compromising God's justice as God cannot contradict Himself. Furthermore by using ten commandments I was able to reveal how 'bad' people we are according to God's standard and that we deserve nothing but death. He looked bit surprised as he grasp this amazing grace of Gospel how it is the gift of God. He did not say that he will believe but he promised that he will think about it
I had a privilege to speak to a person who had dutch background, he told me that he is a Christian he knew about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as he heard it before but when his afterlife was questioned he could not answer properly about it or he did not have assurance of salvation. So when I explained about the helpless state of man by using the law and share the glorious gospel about justification by faith, he looked stunned and he smiled brightly. He showed genuine interest and grasp the gospel asking me for website to check out further. Praise God ! for this divine encounter, he was just waiting for his girlfriend outside of the shopping mall and as we were about to end the conversation his girlfriend came so I could share the whole gospel without distraction or him leaving in between.
From Huy Do:-
This week’s evangelism proved to be quite eventful. First off, in hearing about the others’ testimony about their encounters, I was deeply moved by God to proclaim the Gospel publicly and loudly. This happened at the state library, whereby i saw a group of protesters, I counted 20 of them, that were protesting and some yelled “free Hong Kong”. I was urged to preach, but I was still scared, I told a fellow laborer Jack, that we will talk one on one first, and then I will preach. After a while, people took the tracts, but no one seemed to be interested in having a talk. So I decided to preach, I was trembling because I hadn’t done this in a while, and prayed, then stood on a high ground and started preaching the Gospel. The moment I started preaching, the entire group of protesters started to look at me and to my surprise, they listened. I said that it is amazing that they were fighting for Hong Kong’s freedom, but stated that I am proclaiming a freedom as well and it is a freedom from death. I told them of how they are enslaved to a thing called death, because they are enslaved to a thing called sin, and that they have sinned in breaking the law of God, I spoke about the justice of God and His grace in Christ, and that Christ offers everlasting life as a free gift, that if they should accept that free gift, they will have everlasting life and be free from the bondage of death. To my amazement, during the preaching a pastor actually heckled me to get me to stop. The pastor and several others actually spoke and stated that this is a political rally for Hong Kong, not a religious one. I replied firstly to the other hecklers that if they contend that this is a mere political rally and that religion ought not be mentioned, then I also have a political statement and that is that “Jesus Christ is king”, I did not hear their replies because I then addressed the pastor. I preached and told him in response to his claim that this is a political rally and thus, that I ought not be preaching Christ the following: “do hongkongers need the Gospel?”, he nodded his head, then I said “that is my point”. I finished up and exhorted them to repent and accept the free gift of everlasting life in Christ by faith and they will be set free from the bondage of sin and death. Praise God for this
The second encounter was with a group of Muslims, they were quite hostile, and they threw around their objections quite a lot but I stood my ground by the grace of God, and answered them. I had to labor with them greatly in order to show to them that the Jesus that they respect is not the Jesus of the Bible. They said that they respected Jesus but only as a prophet, I replied that “as a prophet, He said that He was God”. I had to put my foot on the ground and proclaimed that Jesus said “unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” and challenged them to give an answer. They kept changing topics, but I asked them again, they said the Bible was corrupted, I stated that if that is so that they only judge the BIble based on the Quran then they don’t believe the Bible. If they only believe Jesus in so far as he conforms with the Quran then they don’t believe Jesus and that they are believing a false Christ and are thus condemned and are going to h***. At one point they tried to get me to agree that Christians and Muslims worship the same god and that if I deny Allah then I deny God, I stated that I reject Allah, they actually tried to get their phone out to slander me that I deny God, to which I stated that I reject the false god of Muhammed, not the God of the Bible. They were very angry and aggressive during the entire thing but the Lord kept my feet planted. Either way, I got the Gospel out pretty early out that considering their sins, they have no way of availing before God, and that Christ died for the ungodly on the cross. They left frustratingly after I have shown them the fallacious nature of their worldview and that they must repent and turn to Christ and trust in Him alone for salvation and everlasting life as a free gift. God helped me greatly to plant my feet and stand firm in the faith, but more importantly, He allowed the Gospel to be proclaimed early on, and not forgotten at the end. By His providence, after the aggressive talk, when I was walking to another location, I actually ran into two of them again and to my surprise, it was actually one of the Muslims who asked my for my number to contact me and talk with me again, to the providence of God, I gave him a tract with my number on it, and he took it. Praise GOD, all was not in vain, He is sovereign.

Overall, God has been so faithful ! Soli Deo Gloria ! Let His name be great among nations !

Tuesday started with some online evangelism, before heading to Riccarton for the weekly street outreach there. Roger wasn’t with me this time, so I decided to dispense with the flip chart and roam.
The heavy road works are now mostly complete and I had great access to all the bus stops. I had a field day reaching many people with tracts and via conversation. I completely underestimated the amount of tracts I would need and started to run low.
I talked to a lot of people who had either claimed to have been Christian or were currently Christian, but didn’t know the gospel. Time and again people would look to their good works as the reason why they would be justified before God. And time and again I would have to coach these people to remember the real reason for our justification: a faith in Jesus' sacrifice for their sin. It is very deeply concerning.
The hardest conversation of the afternoon was with a guy who instantly said he didn’t want to talk to me, but then proceeded to engage me in conversation. He claimed to have been heavily involved with a major church in Christchurch: youth and music ministry. But then he said he went to university and did philosophy papers where the clear fallacies of Christianity were apparently exposed. So I proceed to explain how everyone knows God exists. It was a wrong move. This man didn’t need evidence, he needed the law. He became angry, and his pride rose. He said he didn’t want to talk to me, so I went to move on, but then he goaded me for walking away - so I returned. And then he proceeded to accuse me of a list of things I wasn’t doing that he was doing himself! I should have walked off right at the start when he said he didn’t want to talk. I felt like I had failed at my attempts to be extra cautious in light of the heightened tensions I’ve become acutely aware of last Friday. A poignant reminder of how easily we fail, and how desperately we should be praying for God’s help in everything we do.
Wednesday I turned up in Cathedral Square to see a group of Christians open air preaching! I had a chance to listen, and to get to know them. I hope to see them again, and get to know them better.
I then headed off to Cashel Mall for one to one gospel conversations. The highlight was a conversation with a young man from Indonesia with a Buddhist background, who was very open to me patiently explaining the gospel to him - it was very encouraging.
I finished the day by joining the Aussie team for online evangelism. A conversation that stands out was one with a young man who came to understand justification by faith, but who slipped back into thinking his good works would save him. This amazes me, and is a strong reminder at how foreign the concept of justification by faith alone is to the mind, and how important checking questions are.
All glory to God alone for the work He is doing!

Wednesday online was a wonderful outreach! With 9 team members on over the course of the day and many gospel conversations taking place it was a great afternoon to witnessing.
The introduction started with three chats in a row, seeing God's existence and their guilt and then leaving when asked for the solution for sinners not to go to Hell. Sadly they left without hearing the good news!
This was followed by a conversation with Lillie who typed her responses. Over a slower conversation she came to see that she is in serious trouble, that even though she hasn't done too much wrong by the world's standards that God says the standard for Heaven is perfection. She then saw that her goodness would not be able to keep her out of Hell but that the only way to Heaven is if someone else pays what she owes.
She then was reminded about Jesus Christ and what He did to save sinners and she grasped the good news and was filled with thankfulness, acknowledging that prior to the conversation she was heading to Hell but from now on she would start trusting that Jesus paying for her sin was the only thing getting her into Heaven!
Next was a similar conversation with two teenagers. They both thought they were heading to Heaven and were shocked as they saw they deserved Hell and then grasped the gospel quite quickly and one girl said, "That is so beautiful I think I'm going to cry". She also realised that this would cause her life to change and said she wanted to start reading her Bible!
The last exciting conversation was with 6 teenagers all sitting next to each other on the bed. It was expected that they would disconnect at some point but what was so exciting is that over a fifteen minute conversation they all listened answered and the majority were able to comprehend the gospel. They were encouraged to start reading their Bible as well!
It was overall an exciting day and well worth it! As is the case with every outreach as God's word never returns void, rather it accomplishes all it was set out to do!

Monday on Omegle was an encouraging day and a good reminder! When it comes to evangelistic techniques you can hear "seasoned" or "professional" evangelists share their ideas and thoughts on the best way to communicate the gospel. You can meet a faithful Christian and they will share theirs but the issue is in practice we can often all fall into the same trap, whether by accident or thinking we need something better than the gospel. When trying to draw someone to Christianity we can often forget that it is the gospel that is the power of God unto salvation, not apologetics.
There is a sense in which knowing answers to common objections is important or being able to ask good questions to draw a person out and get them engaged whilst learning about who they are and what they believe but we must never trade good answer and good conversational skills for the God appointed weapon of the law and the God provided solution of the penal substitionary and atoning death of Jesus.
There were three good reminders of that today the first, penultimate and last conversations. The first was with a guy whose phone froze and he didn't return. He was shown God's existence, his guilt via the law but he through a smoke screen and the conversation ended up on a tangent, defending the reliabiity of the Bible but after twenty minutes of conversation instead of hearing the gospel and having an opportunity to trusting in Christ for the forgiveness of his sins, he was left having some understanding of why we can trust the Bible but no idea what it really had to say. Although this wasn't a complete failure, it would be a struggle to call it "evangelism".
The second last was with an American student who said he had zero Christian friends. He took was being relatively stubborn on the existence of God but instead of getting caught there, the information was left, the law and gospel was shown and then the objections were returned to at the end after he had comprehended the way to Heaven! He was extremely surprised and quite impressed that Christianity was such a complete worldview and was glad for the conversation and he too said he had much to think about!
A similar conversation took place with Emily though at the end of the evening. She had a Buddhist background but wasn't super into it. About 15 minutes was spent trying to establish God's existence and little progress was made until it was pointed out with a simple analogy that her rejection of God was on the basis of her desire not to be accountable to Him, with the simple, "You can't leave the area of His authority" analogy. To which she responded, "Yeah that makes sense I suppose I believe in God now". Then she was taken through the gospel and each little objection was answered briefly the bigger ones brushed aside till then end to the point where she comprhended the gospel and said, "I really will have to think about this, thanks for the chat!"
It was a good day of reminder, the gospel is the power of God for salvation to those who believe. So why not join us, you don't need great apologetics, just the gospel! We'd love to have you along!

Yesterday, some of us from the Bribie Island team were privileged to attend the practical training outreach using Omegle. And wow, what a tool! We were so encouraged by watching others from Op 513 sharing the Gospel live through this website.
So...we decided to give it a try.
After setting the safeguards in place, we started Omegle up, taking turns so that all of us could have a chance to share the Gospel, as well as to listen from the back.
It started with:
“Can I ask you a question?“
CLICK! Ok, new person.
“Can I ask...”
CLICK!
“Can I...”
CLICK!
It took many “strangers" before someone was happy to talk.
This 35 year-old man spent close to an hour with one of the team. He heard the Gospel several times, but refused it. He eventually said, “You’re a very nice person; you are a good person, but what you believe is @#$! rubbish!”
But the amazing thing is that he stayed to talk. Some of his objections were met and answered, but still he was very hardened. It seemed he had been hurt before by “religion.” He said Christianity was dangerous and that Christians taxed others, but at one point, you could hear the doubt in his voice. He wasn’t as sure of himself as he would like to think. We finally left him with a link to a Christian website and encouraged him to think about what he had heard.
Our next “stranger" was a young girl who had never thought about the afterlife. No one had ever shared the Gospel with her, and she didn’t know who Jesus was. She initially said she believed in Satan, but not in God. She changed her mind within the first few minutes. She already knew she wasn’t a good person because she said she “was mean.” Going through the law of God, she had no doubt she was heading for hell and her solution was to reverse her bad deeds. When we explained why that wouldn’t work, we also gave her the real solution to our problem of sin—Jesus.
When she was asked the checking questions, we could see she still believed her good works could save her. We did another loop through to re-explain the Gospel. Still she believed that to be saved she had to “respect others and obey God.” We went through it again, and then asked the same question. Her answer was to “trust in Jesus and respect others.” On the fourth time explaining the free gift, unearned and undeserved, we asked what she must do to be saved. She said, “Trust in Jesus.” When we asked if there was anything else we had to trust in, she seemed to understand that Christ had paid it ALL. It was like the penny suddenly dropped, and she was excited.
She said that what she had heard had really helped her. She said she had a Bible, and that she would read the book of John and think about our conversation. She was urged also to act on it and to put her trust in Christ. We also left her with the link to needGod.net.
What an amazing tool! We are one click away from a person who is just sitting and waiting to talk to us. Please pray for the conversion of these people we have spoken to; pray for wisdom, guidance, and protection for us; and pray that God’s kingdom would grow through this internet evangelism. May there be many more Gospel conversations.
