Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday April 18th, 2023 from 1330 – 1500

I guessed Uni also finished term break as such the long queue for bus appeared again at 1330 the peak hour for the afternoon class. We prayed to God preparing more soften hearts for us to reach and share especially those from mainland China and our prayer was answered. Winnie had many chats with Student from Mainland China and Hong Kong. As for me, it was a good mixed of people from different nations. Lately, we have an exchange of opinion amongst the SMA co-workers regarding what should be posted on the SMA face book group while it is the primary aim of SMA to do level 1 prophetic mobilization to arouse nominal Christian to engage into real and practical full scope of same and cross-cultural evangelism. To me, it has long been my vision and conviction that as a HF, RC and ex-NCT, I should not confine myself to do level 1 mobilization merely by words but buy acts. That is why I have been mobilizing a sort of Mobi tribes amongst the Kairos graduated to engage in street cross-cultural outreach. This is the most general and easy avenue for each and every World Christian to have a go in discharging the Great Commission in a context of day to day living. Unfortunately, the street outreach was shared under the banner of Operation 513 which gives people a misconception that it belongs to S2 or even S3 mobilization for specific mission agencies ministry. but as a matter of fact, Operation 513 is not a formal mission agency, everyone can join and have a go to do street outreach in whatever orthodox gospel message. It should be deemed as a choice of life style to share the gospel randomly to people of all nations on a regular day to day basis. It will serve the double effect of mission bringing people to receive the seed of gospel and in the meantime the gospel outreaching persons themselves will be benefited to experience spiritual growth by working and walking with God. If I am the NCT of the SMA, I will make it as a general appeal to challenge all Kairos graduates to make their step of faith to engage in regular Street outreach evangelism. Currently, God has used Kairos and me to have successfully mobilized four partnership churches to send team to do street outreach regularly including the Gold coast and Sunshine Coast Chinese Christian Church, Antioch Lutheran Church and of course Christ's Family Church. A few more individual from other churches have also been involved in the Simply Mobilizing Gospel movement forming a Gospel outreach belt from the Sunshine Coast , via Brisbane to the Gold Coast and extending further to Sydney, Melbourne and even Tasmania. It is my hope to show to the other Kairos Graduates this most general and achievable option for them to become a real-world Christian and GEM Gospel Evangelist & Mobilizer. I sincerely hope that the SMA NCT leadership team will share my view that more actual practical sharing of day to day cross cultural evangelism will be a better way to wake up the sleeping majority in the church apart from prophetic mobilization by slogan and empty talk but also walk the walk in a most down to the earth life context. 1) Lily a local Aussie young lady was a good listener with open mind and receptiveness towards the gospel message.

2) Peter a Thai young man who has come and migrated to Australia for 15 years. I guess through the influence of the Australian culture, he appeared very approachable and receptive to the Gospel message which he heard it for the first time. He was willing to ponder for the next step and happy to have a selfie with me for future mutual recognizable of our faces.

3) David was born in Australia but with parents from Nigeria. He seemed to be shy and unhappy with some personal issues. But the Spirit still had softened his heart and became receptive to the gospel message.

4) Peter is an Indonesian from Ache, Sumatra. He admitted the natural disaster of tsunami happened 10 odd years ago did triggered his young heart to be fully aware of the vulnerability of human life and it is important to search out the real meaning of life. Thus, he appeared also very receptive to the gospel. He was also very happy to take a selfie with me in case we will meet again in the future for more follow up chat.

5) Then I was led to approach a young man Zhang from Nanjing. He has been in Brisbane for half a year. He also agreed with me that after the suffering from pandemic and baptism of the awakening white paper movement, most of the youngster regain their free and independent thinking of important life issues including religion. He also showed very good receptiveness towards the gospel message.

6) Maisie, an Indian girl also showed interest on the Gospel message. She has one Christian friend as such she heard before the gospel message. So, it was a good revision or a second wake up call for her to ponder deeply her need for salvation by Christ.

Quite an interesting week of outreach this week!  It ended with me needing to call the police.  And thankfully that wasn’t for my safety.  I’ll work backwards in this report till I get to the start of the week.

So, starting on Sunday afternoon (today) I was on the streets for a couple of hours, Susan joined me for the 2nd hour.  I was feeling tired, and so I decided I would just focus on handing out tracts.  But, lo and behold, I ended up having many interesting conversations.

The last one was with a young philosophy / economics graduate from the University of Canterbury.  Susan had handed him a “How we know God exists and why it matters” tract and I engaged him with my usual question: “what do you think happens after life?”.  Being a philosophy student, I wasn’t surprised by his resistance to the cosmological argument.  But we fell into a really good and friendly conversation that went quite long.  I was able to share the law and the gospel with him - but I could see it had little effect.  He liked to ponder other abstract ideas.  Interestingly, he noticed that everyone in his philosophy courses (mainly non religious people) would agree with him about things.  And so, he sought out Christian ministries on campus to get a different perspective!  He was even at Cornerstone Church today (near the campus).  Sadly, he still currently denies the reality of God, or at least says it can’t be proven.  But there is hope when someone is hearing the gospel.  I gave him my email address, and I hope he gets in touch to continue the conversation.

It was during this conversation that I became aware of a guy throwing something large at the glass doors of the BNZ bank!  I called the Police and stayed around until he was arrested.  So sad.  Earlier in the outreach, he went past me and even accepted a tract.  I hope he reads it while in custody.

There were at least 4 other interesting interactions from the outreach:

As I was walking into the city, I passed 3 young guys - I instinctively wanted to start a conversation with them, but I was torn - I needed to be at the outreach spot on time, in case someone else was going to join me.  I decided to be at the outreach spot on time, but I prayed that I would have an opportunity to talk to them later.  Well, lo and behold, during the outreach they indeed came past!  I didn’t hesitate, and I approached them for a conversation.  I was able to share the law and the gospel.  It was a great chat!

Earlier I talked to 2 guys, who were involved with “black magic” (his words).  They heard the gospel, and they seemed to understand it, but they were rejecting it for now, sadly.  They left with tracts.

Two young ladies stopped to take tracts, and even stayed to talk - but I could tell they wouldn’t stay for long - with that in mind I shared the law and the gospel with them.

Finally, one of my regulars, Rob, went past.  He can be a bit of a time waster, so I decided to be direct and lay the law thick.  Not surprisingly he wasn’t interested in the gospel.  I regularly pray for him, may God convict him and open him to the gospel!

Saturday’s outreach to Riccarton was busy and interesting too.  The first thing I noticed was that the JWs had set up not far from where I usually set up (pictured)!  They are becoming more active again, post Covid.

I was able to catch up with the owner of the SoYo (frozen yoghurt shop) - who I also saw on Friday in the city!

But as to gospel chats, I talked to couples: 2 guys, then 2 girls, and then a girl and a guy.

The 2 guys had Christian backgrounds (1 Anglican, the other Presbyterian) - but they were trusting their works.  It was a great, full, chat with the flip chart.  They really seemed to grasp and appreciate the good news, which was very encouraging.

The 2 girls had been watching me for a while on the other side of the street, before deciding to come over and engage, obviously curious about the flip chart I was using.  It was a good chat, 1 believed in God the other didn’t.  A standard law and gospel chat.  Interestingly, during this conversation, a lady interrupted and asked the girls if they were comfortable having the conversation.  They looked at her in surprise, and said, “yes”.  The lady said, “oh, okay, all good”, and walked off.  Because, talking to an old, religious, man on the street would make you uncomfortable - right?

The guy and the girl chat seemed to be a set up of some kind, they were mildly mocking at the start, but then they started asking all the hard questions at the end, when they realised what I was saying made sense.  Oh well, they heard the law and the gospel!

Also, I had a young lady approach me.  She said I had talked to her last year and I had given her a Bible.  I don’t remember it.  She said she had to “spread the gospel” to get to heaven, so I had to correct her on that!  I gave her a card for my church (she lives in the area).

And earlier I had a guy approach me to try to give me an opened energy drink (very odd)!  I tried to engage him, but he said, “I’ve already talked to you at the Ellesmere A&P Show”.

These engagements are actually encouraging.  It’s good to know that people remember being approached to specifically hear the gospel!

Friday’s outreach was good, Andy and Roger were with me.

I re-encountered the trans person I talked to a few weeks earlier.  This time he didn’t have the bright red lipstick or dress on.  He greeted me warmly, but said he didn’t have time to stop and talk.  I hope to see him again!

I spent time talking to the SoYo owner (and gave him a gospel of John), I didn’t know he had a money exchange place in the central city as well!

I also talked to a guy who knew a lot about the Bible, but was a philosophy type - interested in information and ideas, just not interested in the one who gave us the ability to think!

And finally, I want to mention the Easter Monday outreach.  A cruise ship was in, I heard someone say over 4000 people were in Cashel Mall!  800 tracts were distributed + all the hot cross buns.  (And 600 tracts were distributed on Easter Saturday.)   I’m out of time to talk about it, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking!

Jesus is risen indeed! Death and hell are defeated. Let's preach it to ourselves, all day and every day, and proclaim it far and wide!

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday 12/4/2023 from 1300-1500

Praise be to God I had Gary joining me to day while Amy is on leave with her kids in Coffs Harbour friend's farm. As usual, Gary brough along a big sign to promote the online evangelism by Ryan.

Gary met his first target who voluntarily asked to take photo with us before the sign. Actually, we found out later he may be a person with mental issues and does not speak English as such he mistook the sign as some advertisement sign board. Gary anyway took the chance to share him the gospel and handed him a tract. As for me, I was moved to approach more Chinese mainlander than usual and it proved that God is changing their heart and most of them are better prepared to receive the gospel. The last I met is actually a Christian girl from Liaoning Shenyang but of Korean blood. Her father is a pastor of the house church as such she has the perfect understanding of gospel evidenced by her 100% assurance of salvation. And she also was open to taking a selfie with me. 1) I was first moved and led to approach a middle-aged Chinese lady with her son from Hubei Wuhan . she has been in Australia over 10 years as such she and family have escaped the torture of locked down of Wuhan. Thus, they have come to their sense to be more open minded to the truth they can access in the free world than continuing to listen to the party's line of propaganda. She really has not heard of gospel before but appeared very receptive to the gospel message and promised to read the tract at home.

2) Then I moved on to connect with a girl from Bangladesh sitting net to us. She was also very opened to the gospel but the bus cut our conversation short.

3) Then I moved on to approach a young girl of 19-year-old from Tianjin . She has ust arrived for a couple of weeks for study. Again, she was very opened to the gospel but an incoming call from her mother cut short our conversation.

4) Next I took turn to approach a non-Chinese which so happened is Ahmad from Indonesia. He came for Taffe study and he is obviously of Muslim background but again was opened to the gospel. He was happy to take a tract to revise on the message I shared with him and finally, he was also willing to take a selfie with me.

5) Then I caught up with a man from Jie Jiang Hangzhou for a brief chat before his quick arriving bus.

6) Then I bumped into a matured youngster from North Eastern China Shenyang. He quickly told me he has a bible at hoe and he has read a lot of the Bible as such he may cross check what I said with what he read from the bible. I did not rebuked him that as a non-believer, he would not be able to fully and correctly understand the Bible. So I chose to share with him some Bible key doctrine from bible verses he might have read. I use Gen 3:15 to illustrate the dual Kingdom and Salvation Project set up as a blue print of His mission in the fallen world planning to send Jesus to come to die on the cross for repaying the debt of sin on our behalf but three days he rose from death to signify that Jesus has conquer the power of death and defeated Satan to set us free from the bondage of sin controlled by Satan. It helped to give him the awareness that his understanding of the Bible was far from completer and correct and hopefully, he will be moved to accept Christ first and let the Spirit to take full control of his heart.

7) Then I approached a Filipino lady of Chinese and Vietnamese blood who is a Christian explaining to her the difference between Catholicism and Protestant Christ. She was thankful for my sharing.

8 ) The last I met is actually a Christian girl ? from Liaoning Shenyang but of Korean blood. Her father is a pastor of the house church as such she has the perfect understanding of gospel evidenced by her 100% assurance of salvation. And she also was open to taking a selfie with me. She is more akin to Korean culture as such she is attending Korean Church in the CBD.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday April 11th, 2023 from 1330 – 1500

It was term break also for UQ, so there was no long queue for bus which used to be there around 1330. We prayed for people with heart prepared for the gospel and God answered our prayer. Basically, there was non stop people flow and larger percentage of Mainland Chinese ready for an open chat. The spirit even moved me to dare asking one of the mainlanders who has come for 6 years to take a selfie with me. God really can turn around the situation and changed stone heart into a heart of flesh ready and open for the Gospel. Recap below is my Battle Log: -

1) First, I was moved to approach a girl from Shenzhen but was not Cantonese speaking She was waiting for her friend who is from Hangchou , We connected well and they appeared very open to the gospel with receptiveness. They both took a tract to read and ponder at their private time.

2) Then I was led to approach a group of four Muslim dressed Malaysian girls from KL, they were open too for the gospel but the bus came a bit too early before I finished the full Gospel. Anyway, one of them took the tract to read later.

3) Then I was led to approach a Korean atheist who was reluctant to chat about religion. I assured him that I will take it as a cross cultural life issue for exchange of opinion. So I did was able to carry on with the chat and actually finished sharing the full gospel to him

4) Then I approached a young man from Guangzhou who initially showed no interest to religious issue. The Spirit any way still moved him to finish listening to the full gospel.

5) Lily is an American Born Half Chinese with the Chinese Mum from Malaysia and USA dad. She was very open for a chat despite she indicated she is a non-believer. She promised to read the tract and make her decision of faith.

6) Then the Spirit clearly moved me to approach Luk? from Wu xi Jiangsu despite there were other choices. He has come for study at UQ for 6 years already as such he has local friends circle of Catholic Christian background as such, he is no stranger to the gospel but a seeker. I briefly explained the major difference between Catholic and protestant Christian that they wrongly thought we need good deeds on top of the redemptive grace of Jesus. Anyway, the Spirit clearly prompted me to ask for a selfie and he delightfully agreed. It showed his heart is well prepared for the gospel to accept Jesus in no time.?

7) Then came a stone heart local Aussie atheist. I already tried to remain connected by switching to the Story Bridge story to show good charity work will not be able to offset the murder charges of Mr Story who donated money to build the Story bridge and donated land to UQ for building the campus. He finally still asked me to leave him alone.

8 ) Then finally another local Aussie but of more friendly reaction. He was surprised for me to ask if he is an local Aussie then I picked on him asking if he knew the word Dinkum which he don't. So, I basically connected with him well but time run out when his bus arrived. He still cared to take a trac to read.

Christ is risen!  He is risen indeed! :)  Happy Easter, the time when we can start a gospel chat by asking, “why do you think we call good Friday ‘good’, when we remember a man dying on a cross?”

This week, the outreach schedule was very different.  With the shops closed on Friday & Sunday (today), we didn’t do street work on those days.  Instead I worked online.

But on Saturday (and then again tomorrow, Monday) we ran a special Easter outreach that we call the Hot Cross Bun and Gospel Tract Outreach.  Also, on Tuesday, Roger and I ran our usual afternoon outreach to Riccarton.

So, the focus of the Easter outreaches is giving tracts, along with a gift of a hot cross bun or easter mini egg.  People are always blessed to receive the gift!

During the outreach on Saturday we gave away 500 buttered hot cross bun halves.  We had 3 buttering stations down Cashel Mall, and trays were loaded up and taken by Christians to offer to those going past.  Also, flipcharts were up and many gospel conversations were had.  I’ll let the pictures do the talking!  From my perspective it went really well.

I didn’t have many gospel chats myself, as I spent my time, during the 2 hour outreach, going from station to station to make sure everything was going well.

Down one end, we had the JW’s across the road, and then the Hare Kristina's turned up and set up on the other side of us.  It wasn’t a problem, we just kept to our own tasks.

I offered hot cross buns to the JW’s.  And at the end of the outreach, one of the Hare Krishna's came over to chat with me.  I’ve actually talked to him a few times before, I had some in depth chats with him years ago.  But today he approached me and told me he was a bad Catholic!  I found that odd, but we fell into conversation, and it turns out that, as a child, he never got satisfactory answers to questions from the Catholic church.  So, I did my best to address those questions and was able to share the law and the gospel with him (again) in the process.  I hope to be able to see him, and some of the other Hare Krishna's that I’m getting to know, again to be able to continue the conversation.

I love the photo I took at Riccarton on Tuesday, the autumn colours in the trees are lovely - with Roger in conversation below their canopy.

He seemed to be having a good conversation with the ladies in that photo, but then a group of high school kids came and started interrupting it.  I took the initiative, and went to engage the school kids.  Eventually I was able to get them to come across the street to my flip chart.  They were rowdy!  I couldn’t engage them as a group, and so I tried to focus on individuals.  The girl of the group seemed to be the most resistant - asking me hard questions initially.  But to my surprise, she was the one that stayed to hear the gospel (all of her friends left her and went to the mall).  It ended up being a good conversation with her.  It turns out she has Muslim influences in her life, and she wanted to go and get her brother to talk to me.  Sadly, I would have left the area by the time she got back, but I told her to get her brother to contact me.

Well, 1 more special outreach tomorrow: 11 am in Cashel Mall, central Christchurch - giving away the gospel + hot cross buns.  The weather forecast is not looking the best - but God will get us through!  Please come and get involved!  And please pray that it will go well: that God will be glorified!

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday 5/4/2023 from 1300-1500

Today and possibly for the next couple of weeks during school holiday, Amy cannot accompany me so I will have to do street outreach solo at Sunnybank. I prayed that more Chinese Maninder will be open up for gospel. But at the end there were mixed result for gospel to mainland Chinese while people of all other nations remained opened to embrace the gospel. Recap below is the Battle Log: -

1) I was first led to approach a Columbia guy who appeared friendly though still had some degree of scepticism about religious matter. I was only able to brief the nutshell of the gospel to him as the bus arriving very quick. He anyway took a tract for reading afterwards.
2) Then I approached a Chinese looking woman who claimed she is a Singaporean but was originally from China. She came just a couple of weeks for sightseeing. Yet she seemed to have lost her way coming to this bus stop that will take her to an opposite direction than her targeted visiting address. I directed her to go over the pedestrian bridge to ask for more direction at the bus stop across Main Roads. She was thankful for my help as such she let me share the nutshell of the Gospel to her and got a tract before heading her way to the bus stop on the East side.
3) Then I was moved to approach yet another Mainlander Chinese from Guangxi . He is a Qut student who told me upfront he is not interested in religious matter. He even joked around to say that he does not mind going to hell. I returned joke to him saying he is not the only crazy guy who does not mind going to hell. I said Jesus came to live as a man for the purpose of dying for us and went to hell willingly but with a mission so that he can take our place to receive punishment of our sin. So thankful for the Spirit guiding me to break the resistant barrier of that guy but still subtly shared him the gospel.
4) Alias an ABC with parents from Hong Kong. He appeared opened and humble to listen to the full gospel and looked impressed. Pray for the follow up work of the Holy Spirit to convict him to accept Jesus.
5) Then I approached another mainlander who was the only person standing at the bus stop. He was from North Eastern province of China. Actually, he was with her girl friend who got a seat. He appeared impartial for a chat. And finally happy to listen to my gospel sharing. But her girl friend purposely dragged him away and cut our conversation short.
6) Then I turned to yet another Western person called Leon at the bus stop. He lived in Hong Kong for a long while and returned to Australia by 1964. His Cantonese is actually not very good, but I was surprised he can read our Chinese tract in Mandarin. So, I confirmed with him if he is a Christian and a gospel co-worker which he joyously answered yes.
7) Lastly Aron a local Aussie high school girl appeared very open and receptive to the Gospel which she later disclosed it was the first time she heard the gospel sharing. She promised to ponder deeply at home to consider if she will accept Jesus as her personal Saviour and Lord of her Life.
8 ) I also approached a Korean woman, whose English is not good . I anyway still managed to connect with her through other Korean related matter like the big Korean Church on Logan Road next to the Eight Miles Plains Methodist Church. She anyway politely declined my invitation for conversation at the end.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday April 4th, 2023 from 1330 – 1500

The weather played up this afternoon with scattered rains before and after we were about to finish for the day. We rarely were forced to walk all the way under rain back to Toowong Village. Yet such hiccup did not diminish the joy we derived from the street outreach ministry. Evidently, people from hard land country like Mainland China, Muslim regimes all appeared to be open for the gospel. I think it is because God has let people to witness the sin of the human race in this fallen human world that has created a vacuum in their heart yearning for faith, hope and love to fill it up. Recap below is the Battle Log of Hung: -

1) God answered prayer to have prepared several UQ students from Mainland China for the gospel. First was Li ?from Shandong . I had just enough time to share the full gospel to him and he seemed to find it making a lot of sense. Pray that the Spirit will lead him to read the tract afterward to draw him closer to the last step of faith to receive Christ.

2) Alex, a local Aussie major in Economic as mine so we clicked instantly. He has no religion following but appeared very open and receptive to the gospel and he promised to read the tract to reinforce the gospel message I shared him.

3) Then I was led to chat with another student from small town in Hebei, China, . He was willing to chat and got connected through my life witness travelling to many places in China. It was a pity the bus arrived before I touch upon the gospel. So, it was settled by taking a tract to read afterwards.

4) Then I approached another girl from Mainland China. She claimed she had chatted with Johnny one year ago. So, I said to her, it was no coincident for us to reconnect for revision on the gospel message.

5) Then I connected with a man from Serbia. He claimed some of us had chatted with him before and he was now busy in doing some last-minute revision to his assignment so excuse me from a chat.

6) Steve an UQ student from KL Malaysia though he is basically an English-speaking person. It was unsure about his own faith status but he appeared very open for the gospel and has a very receptive heart for the salvation of Jesus. We took photo to make sure we recognize each other next time.

7) Amah is from Saudi Arabia he was yet another Muslim but very opened to the gospel and even know who Jesus is. We also took photo to make sure we recognize each other next time.

Another busy week for the Christchurch team!  Mainly because of the Oxford A&P Show outreach on Saturday.  But we were out on the streets in the city on Friday and Sunday as well.  For the 2nd week in a row, Tuesday’s outreach in Riccarton was a wash out!  But that time was well spent online.  It’s almost a full time job keeping up with the messages we receive on Instagram - at one point we had 256 unread messages! :O  Such a good problem to have, because each thread is a gospel conversation!  Very grateful for the opportunity we have to work online sharing the gospel there!

But let me start with Friday’s outreach.  It was a hard day!  I spent the morning sharing the gospel on Instagram, before having a difficult video chat on the YouTube live stream.  The girl I was talking to was very resistant, and had a deep hatred for God: that he would allow the world to be the way it was.  My heart was really pumping through that chat - because I found it so difficult to stay calm in the face of such hostility.

Roger joined me on the street.  He had his flip chart up.  I decided to work without a flip chart.  I was busy, but pretty much all my chats were difficult.   First up was a young man with a Sri Lankan background - he was intelligent, and willing to talk, but was resistant to the idea of God being real.  We sparred for a while, before he said he had to go.

The next chat was probably the hardest of the day.  A guy wearing bright red lipstick and a dress came past.  As always, I smiled and offered a tract.  He looked at my eyes, and he stopped to accept it.  I smiled and said, “it comes with a question: if you have a moment; what do you think happens afterlife?”.  He contemplated for a few seconds and said, “I guess I have some time”.  So, we fell into a law and gospel conversation.  As I took him through the law, it was obvious that he was uncomfortable with the conversation. From time to time, his eyes would dart around, instead of look at me.  Yet, I was giving him the respect I would give any person.

Part way through the chat, a lady approached us, and then asked him if he was okay.  We were both surprised, and there was an awkward pause.  Then he said, “it’s okay, we are just having a conversation”.  The implication was obvious, and I actually felt very hurt by the insinuation that I was doing something wrong.  But I smiled and shook her hand as I politely included her in the conversation.  But once she realised “all was well”, she moved on, and I could continue the conversation.

The issue of homosexuality was raised and discussed.  And I didn’t shy away from saying what it is: sin.  And it’s not okay to stay in sin.  But, that God’s forgiveness is totally a free gift.  It was obvious he didn’t like the answer.  But the truth is the truth.

He wanted to know what church I was part of, he even wrote it down, just before his phone ran out of battery life.

The way our culture is going, the biblical position on sin and sexuality is not going to be tolerated.  I know there will be consequences for this.  But I will continue preaching the gospel in love.  If I go to prison, I will preach to the other prisoners.  And if they kill me, I will preach to my persecutors and pray for them before I expire and go to heaven.  God, have mercy.

I then moved into another difficult chat.  With a guy who was obviously struggling with the reality of evil and suffering.  Again, the guy's subtle anger towards God was evident.  And my emotions couldn’t take it.  I told him I’d had a hard day, and I wasn’t up for a fight.  He was happy to take a tract as he left.

My last chat of the day was with a young university student.  Again, deep resistance, but he was friendly and happy to chat.  I was able to work with him for a long while.  The outreach even went long as a result.  There was a focus on apologetics, but I was able to share the law and the gospel.

The Oxford A&P Show outreach was a long and busy day of outreach.  A bit slow at the start, and at the end, but really busy in the middle.  A good solid team of Christians ran the site, I think exclusively made up of members or prospective members of Redemption Church.

Again, my daughter Dani joined me, and also Haley.  I know Julia was keen, but she has a new job now and had to work!

It was so encouraging seeing the church getting involved with the great commission: struggling with the realities of life with people and sharing the hope of Jesus with them!

Haley found herself in a difficult conversation with a Hindu man, and she said she really needed my help - but I wasn’t available.  But in the end she had enjoyed the conversation and had learned a lot!  Well done Haley!

I’ll let the photos do the talking for the rest of the outreach.  But I do want to mention that I had some intense conversations with a large group of teens.  I had a long talk in the morning - it was a bit of an apologetics battle - and they were giving as good as they were taking! :)  But it was in a good way.  Their worldview was challenged, and they were testing the new information they were getting.  Those kids came back and talked to other members of the team throughout the day.  They even came back with other friends to get them to do the “good person test”.  I don’t think those kids changed their minds.  But they were challenged, and had something to think through.

I’ve got a few minutes of writing time left to reflect on the Sunday afternoon outreach.  It was a busy outreach.  Mike and Susan were with me.  A highlight was having Malachi come over to catch up.  I first met Malachi about 4 years ago.  At the time he was living on the street.  And I had many gospel conversations with him.  He got off the streets a few years ago, and I see him from time to time.  Today he had a friend with him, and so I started sharing the gospel with him.  And then I spent a lot of time working through check questions with them both.  They agreed that if they had died before our conversation they would be going to hell.  So I challenged them to respond to the gospel today.  They left with tracts, a gospel of John each, and cards for my church.  Lord, have mercy!

Later in the afternoon, I had a challenging chat with 2 couples on a bit of a (drinking) road trip from up north.  They have a long drive home, and they have some reading material to go with them! :)

Next weekend is Easter, and we have 2 special outreaches planned: hot cross bun and gospel tract giveaways in Cashel Mall 11am till 1pm Easter Saturday, and Easter Monday.  If you are in Christchurch, come join us in this fun outreach. All glory to God alone.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday 29/3/2023 from 1300-1500

Today, Pastor Amy of my CFC church could join me as her younger son got placement at a Kindergarten. We started to serve at the same West Side Bus stop first so that we can render mutual support and take picture for each other. Then Amy still was moved to go over to the East side like last time. God graciously answered our prayers to give her a taste of mission accomplishment by leading Brooke a local Aussie young girl to Christ with a conversion prayer. Before that, she was a bit down as she seemed to have achieve nothing in all aspect of her ministry within and without the CFC church. But God immediately showed her unusual thing could happen and led her to approach Brooke who was in her low status in her late life. The gospel message touched her and she asked if she can simply receive Christ at any time so Amy just right away led her to do the conversion prayer. As I shared yesterday, on the spot conversion is rare in our street outreach ministry especially it is also our policy not to hasten, not to mention to force people to rush the decision to accept Jesus. Yesterday I already shared that God blessed Winnie by leading one of the fruits of gospel Celine who received Christ after the street outreach sharing and she has now been baptized and joining a local Chinese Church in St Lucia. So, with these surprised bonuses, we will more so feel at ease to simply passing on the message under the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and let God do the harvest job in His time. I was also blessed by Ann a choir team member of the SIC who came forwards to show her appreciation of our selfless street outreach work. I told her actually, not just us but every Christian should wake up and get involved in day-to-day evangelism which she unreservedly agreed. I trust our faithful street outreach witness will be used by God to bring awakening to many more people in His time. That is one of the key aims of SM movement or the Kairos training to empower and mobilize all World Christians to leave our comfort zone but engaging into active day to day evangelism to people of all nations without boundary. Recap below is my Battle Log: -

1) I was led to approach a family of 3 generation from Penang Malaysia. They have come just 4 years to Australia. First it was the Mum to chat with me in Cantonese though they are of English-speaking background. Her son listened on by the side as such I switched back to English for the benefit of both. We started learning each other background and then went into the gospel even though their bus seemed to have encounter great delay. But after the nutshell of the Gospel was shared, the mum was interrupted by a phone call. So, I switched to chat with the son who disclose they are of nominal Catholic background. So, I changed approach checking his understanding of assurance of salvation which expectedly is not 100%. I took the chance to clarified the past default of Catholic Faith not only trusting in Jesus but though it was not sufficient adding in the worship of Mary and chipped in a lot of wrong teaching by doing more good deeds or charity. Thanks God the son though young as a High School kid of 18 or 19 years old, he grasped the clarification clearly and appreciate for helping him to regain assurance of salvation depending on the sacrificial death and atoning grace of Jesus alone which is 100% sufficient to set or sin record to zero as such we have been granted back the heavenly citizenship the moment we accept Jesus. I asked the son to share the same to her mum afterwards.

2) Then I turned around to approach a group of youngster students from different place of mainland China. A mature young lady is from Hai Nan but she is not good at Mandarin also not able to speak Cantonese?another big guy is from Shenyang who took over the conversation after attempting to speak Cantonese to me. Anyway, the chat box was opened and I can have a casual chat with them about Chinese languages then returned to share about the gospel. Other 2 or 3 more girls were also listening with great interest though their bus came a bit too early before I finished the full gospel. The boy anyway willingly took a tract to read.

3) After a few bus arrival and departure, Lady Chang from Taipei was left at the bus stop for me to approach naturally She said she has her other faith so initially did not prepare to chat. Again I used the soft approach to open the chat box and finally God let me have time to share the full gospel to her.

4) Then I connect with a man from Guangzhou who was not good at Mandarin. But I still managed to share the gospel to him before his bus arrived.

5) Then a mature young man from Beijing was left alone at the bus stop and the Spirit soften his heart that we can have a long chat at ease. He came to study about a year ago he is very open minded for chatting even about faith. He admitted he has not heard of the gospel before and find it sensible , logical and even credible. So, he took a tract and promise to ponder what is the next step when his bus arrived.

6) Then I encountered a typical mainlander young woman with a daughter who coldly rejected my approach for chat. I think God just use her to contrast all other Mainlanders that God has already prepared their heart to listen to the gospel with an open mind and humble heart.

8 ) Then another young girl left alone at the bus stop who is from Jie Jiang Hangzhou ?She already has come for a year to study and show great willingness to hear the gospel sharing as well as some of my testimony.

9)Then I bumped into an Overseas Chinese who preferred to speak in English and get the topic going into gospel. I trusted he might have Christian influence in overseas but not yet a converted Christian. Our chat was interrupted by the bus and he did not take a tract.

10) Finally I was led to chat with a Nepalese young man who claimed himself a Hindu believer. I anyway was able to convince him Hinduism is good but like all other religions except Christianity cannot address the issue of sin. He also admitted and is aware of the quick growth of Christianity after the earthquake 9 years ago as such nowadays, there are already 500,000 Christians in his country. I appealed him to ponder will there be any other way to set our record of sin to zero so that we can be right with God and become His people. He took a tract and pray for God's reaping work on this first fruit of the gospel.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday March 28th, 2023 from 1330 – 1500

This week, the Spirit led us to approach to people of other nations rather than focusing on Mainland Chinese. Winnie met Celine yet did not recognize her but rather Celine told Winnie they met about a year ago and now she has become Christian and was baptized at a Chinese Church near by the campus (possibly CCCB St Lucia) So, that is the greatest reward that a gospel evangelist can get by serving God faithfully. Recap below is the Battle Log of Hung. In general, all conversations today were friendly though one or two with initial reluctancy but at the end, the gospel message was well received. God will now when is the best timing for any of them to make the last step of faith to receive Jesus.

1) Amy, a Filipino but was born here in Aussie who is a Buddhist. But she appeared receptive anyway to the gospel message and happy to take a tract for revision at home pondering to make the last step of faith.

2) Anna a UQ 2nd year student from Liaoning , China, was initially hesitant to chat, yet I switch tactics to befriend with her and the Spirit softened her heart to listen to the full gospel. She also appeared receptive at the end and took a tract to ponder for the next step.

3) A Local Aussie boy was a good listener with interaction on gospel issues. He has no religious following but admitted that human is no perfect and vulnerable to sin. So, the assertion every one need a Savour is rational. He took a tract to ponder also for the next step of faith decision.

4) Burnie a Voice Therapist student of UQ now under practicum. She was friendly and willing to hear the full gospel. At the end, she seemed not fully moved without taking the tract. But still pray for God's follow up work on her.

5) Jonah, a Taiwanese and Aussie cross breed Youngman. He attended Christian school and heard the gospel with many Christian friends around but he has not yet thought about how faith can be a such important issue in his life. He will ponder but did not take a tract.

6) A Local Aussie girl working as a Cole staff. She was all receptive and a willing listener of the gospel. She also agreed to ponder upon the need to accept a saviour to pardon her imperfection.

7) Finally, it was Eva a criminology student of UQ. Her major study is a good means to convey the message that all crime must be punished to uphold the social justice. Likewise, all sins must be held accountable by all human beings, good or bad. She admitted the gospel presents a very valid and strong point that sins must be punished and sinners to face judgement after death. But at the end, her rational mind might have taken over the control of her Will not to face this issue of sin head on. Still pray that the sharing and message presented will take effect one day.
